Sponsored by the Friends of MLK, Davenport, Juneteenth 2021 is a celebration commemorating the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans. Juneteenth is a holiday that commemorates a two-and-a-half year gap between the end of the Civil War and the abolition of slavery.
Juneteenth is a mutual celebration of Black liberation and an acknowledgement that emancipation is ongoing. With food and retail vendors, history and information booths, fun-filled games and entertainment for the whole family, Junteenth at The Lincoln Center TMBC highlights the economic, political, and social efforts of African-American inclusion in the American Dream.
